Week 33 update

How far along: 33 weeks
 
Total weight gain: 30 lbs

Maternity clothes: Still wearing a mix of maternity and pre-pregnancy clothes. My pre-pregnancy maxi dresses are now too short. I'm starting to hate getting dressed and sick of rotating between my few outfits.

Stretch marks: No, and hoping it stays that way. I'm alternating between using Palmer's cocoa butter, Mustela, and bio oil twice a day.

Sleep: Waking up 3-4 times in the night to use the restroom. I'm waking up with hip pain which goes away quickly but it wakes me up at night because it hurts so bad. It feels like I'm sore from a big workout. I get insomnia 1-2 times a week where I can't fall back asleep for hours.

Miss anything? I miss being comfortable and feeling thin. Everything is harder now & this heatwave isn't helping- getting dressed, putting shoes on, getting in & out of my car, and painting my toes in between pedicures is out of the question. I also miss raw sushi, especially tuna.

Exercise: I go to the gym for cardio a few times a week and take a step/weight class once a week, do my pregnancy workout DVD a few times a week, and we take Lily on walks a few days a week. I've been pretty good at sticking to doing something active five days a week.

Movement: The kicks are becoming stronger and more often, more like jolts and he's been hiccuping more often. He's especially active when I'm laying on my side and sometimes it keeps me up at night. I've been feeling him under my ribs and can feel an elbow or knee rolling. I don't see anything poking out yet but that area gets hard when he does it.

Food cravings: Peanut butter & jelly sandwiches on wheat bread.

Anything make you queasy/sick? Car sickness.

Have you started to show yet: Definitely. I'm so sick of strangers asking when I'm due and what I'm having... and of course I'm sick of their comments. People are so rude. If I could stay home all day everyday I would to avoid it.

Gender: Boy!
Belly button in or out: In, but its getting really shallow now.

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Symptoms: Heartburn, I feel uncomfortable from a tight stomach and I have a faint line down my belly aka the linea nigra. Also getting "pregnancy mask"- I have a dark patch on my right cheek and forehead and have been wearing spf 30 everyday hoping it doesn't get worse. I'm waking up with hip pain. Also I have sciatica back pain, its only on my left side but is so painful. I've been super tired and needing a 1-2 hour nap every day and would sleep more if I could. On a positive note my hair is long and full and I get tan quickly.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, but moody whenever a stranger says something rude to me. I had a few days last week where I felt really good.

Looking forward to: Taking a newborn care class on Wednesday. We took a childbirth class a few weeks ago, but this one focuses on CPR, bathing, etc.

New owner of a "mom car"

Well it was time to start looking for a "mom car". I had a cute little BMW 325i for over 7 years, it was my college graduation present from my parents and I loved it. I definitely got my use out of it... 171,000 miles to be exact! It was such a great car, but now not so baby or car seat friendly. So this weekend we started our search for an SUV. We looked at BMW X5, Mercedes ML350, and Range Rover Sport. Being a BMW driver for the past 7+ years, I thought the X5 was going to be my top pick but the Mercedes ML350 stole my heart.


Soo as of today I am the proud new owner of a Mercedes ML350! Its so comfortable, rides smooth, and not to mention looks pretty! I love the white color even though Andrew would've rather me gotten black. I love it!

Week 32 update

How far along: 32 weeks... I can't believe it. In the 30's which means we are that much closer to meeting our lil guy!
Total weight gain: 27/28 lbs

Maternity clothes: Still wearing a mix of maternity and pre-pregnancy clothes. My pre-pregnancy maxi dresses are now too short. I'm starting to hate getting dressed and sick of rotating between my few outfits but I got excited when I put on my shorts in the picture below and they still fit since they're not maternity & only 2 sizes up from my pre-pregnancy size.

Looking forward to: Organizing the baby's closet and nursery. Right now I'm having fun accessorizing his bookshelf. I can't wait for the nursery to be complete so I can post pictures... I love it, its been my little project for the past few months. Of course Andrew has had his input, but he's really let me go with my vision for the room.

Looking forward to: A much needed prenatal massage on Thursday. Hopefully it will help with my hip pain.

Sneak peek- maternity photos

We took our maternity photos Friday evening with Love Is Photography. I got my hair & makeup done by Flawless Faces, who also did my hair & makeup for the wedding, I love their work. I was going for a soft, rustic look for the pictures and based on the two the photographer shared she captured that look. I can't wait to see the rest!


Week 30 update

How far along: 30 weeks... its the final countdown!

Total weight gain: 25 lbs

Maternity clothes: Still wearing a mix of maternity and pre-pregnancy clothes. I bought a maternity scrub top for work and is so much more comfortable.

Stretch marks: No, and hoping it stays that way. I'm alternating between using Palmer's cocoa butter, Mustela, and bio oil twice a day.

Sleep: Waking up 3-4 times in the night to use the restroom. I'm waking up with hip pain but it goes away quickly. It feels like I'm sore from a big workout. Even though my sleep is interrupted a few times in the night, I'm getting 7-10 hours of sleep a night.

Miss anything? I miss being comfortable and feeling thin. Everything is harder now- getting dressed, putting shoes on, getting in & out of my car, and painting my toes in between pedicures is out of the question. I also miss raw sushi, especially tuna.

Exercise: I didn't workout last week because I hurt my foot. I don't know how it happened but I woke up one morning feeling like the top of my foot was bruised and it hurt to walk. I've been icing it and elevating it hoping it gets better. But before I hurt my foot I was going to the gym for cardio a few times a week and take a step/weight class once a week, do my pregnancy workout DVD a few times a week, and we take Lily on walks a few days a week. I've been pretty good at sticking to doing something active five days a week.

Movement: The kicks are becoming stronger and more often, more like jolts. He's especially active when I'm laying on my side and sometimes it keeps me up at night. I've been starting to feel him slightly under my ribs and can feel an elbow or knee rolling. I don't see anything poking out yet but that area gets hard when he does it.

Food cravings: Still craving chocolate milk. Other than that I haven't been craving anything else, but loving grapes and ice water.

Anything make you queasy/sick? Car sickness.

Have you started to show yet: Definitely. People can be so rude commenting on the size of my belly asking if I'm carrying multiples or if I'm going to pop any day, and saying I'm "huge". Maybe I'm extra sensitive but it hurts my feelings. Ugh... 10 more weeks.

Gender: Boy! After my first baby shower last weekend and getting the nursery together I feel a little bit more prepared and can't wait to meet our baby boy!

Baby shower- August 3

My best girlfriends threw me such an amazing baby shower yesterday. It was a nautical theme (I love nautical) and everything was so detailed from the place settings to the party favors. Thank you again to my best friends- Anna, Kellie, Kristen, Melissa, and Yasmin. And thank you to everyone that came to shower me and Baby Miller with love. It was such a great day!
