Week 25 update

How far along: 25 weeks
Total weight gain: 18-20 lbs. I've had another growth spurt this week and so has baby. Its still weird seeing the scale go up day after day, but my Dr. says I'm doing fine with the weight gain and that it will taper off after 28 weeks. I hope so, I'm going to be in big trouble if I keep gaining 2-3lbs a week.

Maternity clothes: Still wearing a mix of maternity and pre-pregnancy clothes. I finally found some cute clothes at Destination Maternity and they were having a sale so I was able to get quite a bit. I still need maternity gym tops and pajamas.

Stretch marks: No, and hoping it stays that way. I'm alternating between using Palmer's cocoa butter, Mustela, and bio oil twice a day.

Sleep: Waking up more like 3-4 times in the night to use the restroom and its getting harder to fall asleep because I get so uncomfortable and hot. I'm still really sensitive with my pajamas, having to wear them inside out because the seams dig into me while sleeping and are so uncomfortable. I need to look for seamless or maternity pajamas.

Miss anything? I miss being comfortable. The feeling of a tight stomach is back and so uncomfortable. I really notice it when I'm sitting/driving or when I walk too much or too fast.

Exercise: I go to the gym for cardio and take a step/weight class once a week, do my pregnancy workout DVD a few times a week, and we take Lily on walks a few days a week. I've been pretty good at sticking to doing something active five days a week.

Movement: Yes! The kicks are becoming stronger and more often, more like jolts. You can really see him kick from the outside.

Food cravings: Nothing really but I've been loving peaches, ice cream, and ice water. I've been extra hungry and thirsty this week.

Anything make you queasy/sick? Car sickness

Have you started to show yet: Definitely.
 
Gender: Boy! We saw him at our ultrasound appt the other day and he is getting big! Measuring a week ahead of schedule and weighed 1lb 13oz.

Belly button in or out: In, but its getting shallow.

Wedding rings on or off: On but some days my wedding bands feel too tight, might be the hot weather this week because my watches also feel tighter.

Symptoms: Still getting headaches, but only during the work week. I'm convinced they're caused by driving and stress from work. I feel uncomfortable from a tight stomach and I have a faint line down my belly aka the linea nigra. Also getting "pregnancy mask"- I have a dark patch on my right cheek and forehead and have been wearing spf 30 everyday hoping it doesn't get worse.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy for the most part, but irritable when it comes strangers. I don't want anyone I don't know touching my belly and hate when they try to, especially guys. Two guys at two different accts tried touching my belly on the same day which set me off.

Looking forward to: Going to Illinois and getting my hair done this week. Also I got one of my baby shower invitations which made me SO excited for them! The invite is soo cute. We scheduled a 4D ultrasound and cannot wait for that which is in a few weeks.

Week 24 update

How far along: 24 weeks
Total weight gain: 15/16 lbs

Maternity clothes: Still wearing a lot of maxi skirts & dresses and the belly band comes in handy when I wear my pre-pregnancy jeans & shorts. I need to buy some maternity gym clothes but haven't found any cheap ones. I bought some non-maternity gym clothes at Target, including a size large sports bra. I never thought I'd see the day, I always get small, but my old ones are now too uncomfortable.

Stretch marks: No, and hoping it stays that way. I'm alternating between using Palmer's cocoa butter, Mustela, and bio oil twice a day. I thought I saw some one night on my lower back when I was staying at a hotel but haven't seen them since, so I'm really hoping it was just the lighting or lines from my clothes.

Sleep: Waking up 1 or 2 times in the night to use the restroom and its getting harder to fall asleep. I tried the body pillow again but its just too bulky so I've been trying to sleep with a small pillow in between my legs. I'm now really sensitive with my pajamas, having to wear them inside out because the seams dig into me while sleeping and are so uncomfortable. I'm going to look for seamless pajamas if there is a such thing.

Miss anything? I miss being comfortable. I'm not as uncomfortable as last week, but sitting & especially driving makes me feel like I can't breathe. I feel like my torso is too short or something. I also miss shopping for clothes. Its SO hard to find cute maternity clothes and I'm running out of options.

Exercise: I go to the gym for a step/weight class once a week, do my pregnancy workout DVD a few times a week, and we take Lily on walks a few days a week. I've been pretty good at sticking to doing something active five days a week. This week I went to the gym twice for cardio.

Movement: The kicks are becoming stronger and more often, more like jolts. Andrew can tell that they're stronger too and you can really see him kick from the outside.

Food cravings: Nothing really but I've been loving grapes, peaches, ice cream, and ice water.

Anything make you queasy/sick? Car sickness

Have you started to show yet: Definitely, but for some reason I don't feel as big as I did last week.

Gender: Boy! We registered at Babies R Us today, it was so fun!
Belly button in or out: In, but its starting to get more shallow.

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Symptoms: Still getting headaches, but lately only during the work week. I didn't get them on the weekend or when I worked from home one day last week. Trying to pinpoint why I get them (I think traffic is to blame.) I feel full easily and uncomfortable and I have a faint line down my belly aka the linea nigra. But I feel great and have a lot of energy.

Looking forward to: Seeing our lil guy at our Dr appt this week! Also looking forward to continuing to decorate the nursery. Andrew painted it over the weekend and it looks so good! I think it will be my favorite room in the house when its finished.

Registry must haves??

I can't believe the time has come to start registering for our little guy. It feels like just yesterday we were just registering for our wedding, which was almost two years ago. Luckily I have a few girlfriends that have been so helpful in giving me their recommendations on what should go on our registry- thank you! There are SO many baby products but here are some "must haves" that will go on our registry.

1. Sophie the Giraffe- Good thing my mom already got the baby one, all my friends love theirs
2. Sleep Sheep
3. My Brest Friend (vs the Boppy) After reading reviews I think I will register for My Brest Friend
4. Play yard/play mat
5. Sound machine- We have one in our bedroom and love it. A lot of people recommend having one in the baby's room too
6. Bumbo
7. Aden + Anais swaddle blankets
 
If you have any favorite products or anything you would recommend I register for please tell me! Or if there is anything you registered for but didn't use, I'd like to know that to.

Week 23 update

How far along: 23 weeks
Total weight gain: 15lbs

Maternity clothes: Still wearing a lot of maxi skirts & dresses and the belly band comes in handy when I wear my pre-pregnancy jeans & shorts. I was so excited when I found the shorts I'm wearing in the pic below at Forever 21 (one of my favorite stores) that are non-maternity, two sizes up & I can button them.

Stretch marks: No, and hoping it stays that way. I'm alternating between using Palmer's cocoa butter, Mustela, and bio oil twice a day.

Sleep: Waking up 1 or 2 times in the night to use the restroom and its getting harder to fall back asleep. Also its getting hard to fall asleep when I first get into bed because I'm so uncomfortable. I bought a body pillow but it makes me too hot. On a positive note, I haven't been waking up with shoulder pain since my massage last week

Miss anything? I just miss being comfortable. I feel full almost all the time, even when I haven't eaten. It sometimes feels hard to breathe. Is it weird to say I miss feeling thin? Because I feel huge.

Exercise: I go to the gym for a step/weight class once a week, do my pregnancy workout DVD a few times a week, and we take Lily on walks a few days a week. I've been pretty good at sticking to doing something active five days a week.

Movement: The kicks are becoming stronger and more often. Andrew can tell that they're stronger too and you can really see him kick from the outside. I've been feeling him higher up too.

Food cravings: Pizza and grapes. I was really craving pizza one night at 10:30 and told Andrew how bad I wanted pizza. I was surprised when he offered to go get me one but I kept telling myself it was too late so I just went to bed. I was sure to get pizza for lunch the next day though!

Anything make you queasy/sick? Car sickness

Have you started to show yet: Yes and like I said, I feel huge. Strangers are making comments and my accounts at work are all noticing that I have a belly now.

Gender: Boy!

Belly button in or out: In, but its starting to get more shallow.

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Symptoms: Headaches have been every other day which is better than last week. I feel full and uncomfortable and I have a faint line down my belly aka the linea nigra.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy

Looking forward to: I think we're going to register for the baby this weekend. Some of my girlfriends that have kids that have given me their recommendations that have helped a lot.

Week 22 update

How far along: 22 weeks
Total weight gain: 14lbs

Maternity clothes: Still wearing a lot of maxi skirts & dresses and the belly band comes in handy when I wear my pre-pregnancy jeans & shorts.

Stretch marks: No, and hoping it stays that way. I'm alternating between using Palmer's cocoa butter, Mustela, and bio oil twice a day.

Sleep: Waking up 1 or 2 times in the night to use the restroom and waking up with a sore shoulder from sleeping on my side, and I've had a few nights where it was hard to fall back asleep but I still think I'm sleeping pretty well.

Miss anything? I still miss spicy tuna, I don't think that will go away until I can actually eat it. I also miss shopping for cute summer clothes and just being comfortable. I'm definitely getting to that uncomfortable stage especially after eating. I get full SO fast.

Exercise: I go to the gym for a step/weight class once a week, do my pregnancy workout DVD a few times a week, and we take Lily on walks a few days a week. I've been pretty good at sticking to doing something active five days a week.
 
Movement: The kicks are becoming stronger and more often. Andrew can tell that they're stronger too. Over the past two days I've felt him around my belly button, which is higher than normal.

Food cravings: Salads and sweets. I have a huge sweet tooth anyways so this really isn't any different. It was national donut day on Friday and we went to Krispy Kreme for the occasion and that really hit the spot!
Anything make you queasy/sick? Car sickness

Have you started to show yet: Yes and days like today I feel huge (the pic below was taken today.) I feel like I get bigger as the day goes on.
 
Gender: Boy!

Belly button in or out: In.

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Symptoms: Headaches have been so awful. Today is day #6 in a row of a throbbing headache. My Dr. said I can take Tylenol as needed but I am using it as a last resort. I've taken it a few times but feel guilty after. Cherries seem to help a little but does anyone have any tricks to get rid of headaches? Heartburn hasn't been as bad as last week. Bending down to put my shoes on is getting more difficult too. On a positive note my hair feels healthier and fuller and my face is free of acne (at the moment.)

Looking forward to: Continuing to shop for the nursery. The crib and dresser were delivered this weekend and Andrew put them together. Its coming along! Next will be paint and a ceiling fan. I'm not going to post any pictures of the nursery until it is all done. Also looking forward to getting a pre-natal massage this week. I hope that helps get rid of my headaches.

Week 21 update

How far along: 21 weeks
Total weight gain: 12/13lbs. Double digits eek!

Maternity clothes: Still wearing a lot of maxi skirts & dresses and the belly band comes in handy when I wear my pre-pregnancy jeans & shorts.

Stretch marks: No, and hoping it stays that way. I'm alternating between using Palmer's cocoa butter, Mustela, and bio oil twice a day.

Sleep: Waking up 1 or 2 times in the night to use the restroom and waking up with a sore shoulder from sleeping on my side, but I'm sleeping pretty well. I'm thinking of getting one of those body pillows but I don't want to feel claustrophobic. Has anyone used one?

Miss anything? I still miss spicy tuna, I don't think that will go away until I can actually eat it. I also miss sleeping through the night and sleeping on my stomach.

Movement: Yes! Kicking everyday and hiccups occasionally too. The kicks are becoming stronger and more often. Even Lily got to feel him kick the other day! (He was kicking when Lily was on my lap so I put her paw where he was kicking to get this pic)
 
Food cravings: Nothing really but I've been eating a lot of fruit and salads with ranch dressing. I finally got my Twix fix and thank goodness my chocolate cravings have calmed down a bit.

Anything make you queasy/sick? Car sickness. We were in pretty bad traffic and had to pull over so I could drive or I would've gotten sick.

Have you started to show yet: Yes. Some days I feel huge and others not so much. I don't know why it fluctuates and certain clothing makes me feel bigger.
 
Gender: Boy! Here is a photo from our ultrasound last week, he's giving us a thumbs up. I thought it was so cute!

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Symptoms: Headaches and heartburn have been bad, but besides that I have been feeling great! I can't pin point what gives me heartburn because sometimes I will get it after eating cereal which is so bland.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!
 
Looking forward to: Continuing to shop for the nursery. We bought a crib over the weekend. Everything is happening so fast and becoming so real, and I am loving every part of it. Also looking forward to getting my hair done this week.
