Week 29 update

How far along: 29 weeks
Total weight gain: 25 lbs

Maternity clothes: Still wearing a mix of maternity and pre-pregnancy clothes. I need maternity scrubs now. I was getting away with maternity scrub pants with a non-maternity top, but now that's not working anymore.

Stretch marks: No, and hoping it stays that way. I'm alternating between using Palmer's cocoa butter, Mustela, and bio oil twice a day.

Sleep: Waking up more like 3-4 times in the night to use the restroom. I'm waking up with hip pain but it goes away quickly. It feels like I'm sore from a big workout. Even though my sleep is interrupted a few times in the night, I'm getting 7-10 hours of sleep a night.

Miss anything? I miss being comfortable and feeling thin. Everything is harder now- getting dressed, putting shoes on, getting out of my car, and painting my toes in between pedicures is out of the question. I also miss raw sushi.

Exercise: I go to the gym for cardio a few times a week and take a step/weight class once a week, do my pregnancy workout DVD a few times a week, and we take Lily on walks a few days a week. I've been pretty good at sticking to doing something active five days a week.

Movement: The kicks are becoming stronger and more often, more like jolts. He's especially active when I'm laying on my side and sometimes it keeps me up at night. I've been starting to feel him slightly under my ribs and can feel an elbow or knee rolling. I don't see anything poking out yet but that area gets hard when he does it.

Food cravings: Chocolate milk, my first real craving in a long time. I drank 1/2 a gallon myself just in this past week which is so unlike me because I don't like milk unless its with cookies.

Anything make you queasy/sick? Car sickness.

Have you started to show yet: Definitely. I feel I wake up bigger everyday. Strangers now say stuff when they ask when I'm due like "you're going to have a big baby" and it really makes me mad. People are so rude.

Gender: Boy!

Belly button in or out: In, but its getting shallow.

Wedding rings on or off: On but some days my wedding bands feel too tight.

Symptoms: Heartburn is back, I feel uncomfortable from a tight stomach and I have a faint line down my belly aka the linea nigra. Also getting "pregnancy mask"- I have a dark patch on my right cheek and forehead and have been wearing spf 30 everyday hoping it doesn't get worse. I'm waking up with hip pain & I've been napping a lot. Also I have what I think is sciatica back pain, its only on my left side but is so painful.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy but get irritated easily

Looking forward to: Celebrating our 2nd anniversary tomorrow, getting my hair done tomorrow (I love getting my hair done), taking maternity pictures this week and getting my hair & make-up done for them, and my first baby shower on Saturday thrown by my girlfriends. This should be a fun week!

Baby in 4D

We had our first 4D ultrasound the other day, what an amazing experience! It was a 30 minute session and my parents went with us to the appointment. Ever since getting pregnant I've wondered what the baby will look like, and after our 4D session the baby looks like Andrew! He totally has Andrew's mouth and lips. He has the cutest lil face I've ever seen and I can't stop looking at the pictures. We even saw him yawn and smile and got to take home a DVD of the session too. I can't believe how amazing the technology is to see such details.

I'm so glad we did the 4D ultrasound, and can't wait until the lil guy is here!

Week 28 update

How far along: 28 weeks
Total weight gain: 23/24 lbs

Maternity clothes: Still wearing a mix of maternity and pre-pregnancy clothes. My mom & I went shopping the other day and I got some cute maternity dresses.

Stretch marks: No, and hoping it stays that way. I'm alternating between using Palmer's cocoa butter, Mustela, and bio oil twice a day.

Sleep: Waking up more like 3-4 times in the night to use the restroom. I'm now waking up with hip pain but it goes away quickly. It feels like I'm sore from a big workout. I've been more tired than normal lately and taking naps almost daily this past week.

Miss anything? I miss being comfortable, and as weird as it sounds I miss not feeling my thighs touch. Everything is harder now- getting dressed, putting shoes on, getting out of my car, and painting my toes in between pedicures is out of the question. I also miss raw sushi.

Exercise: I go to the gym for cardio a few times a week and take a step/weight class once a week, do my pregnancy workout DVD a few times a week, and we take Lily on walks a few days a week. I've been pretty good at sticking to doing something active five days a week.

Movement: Yes! The kicks are becoming stronger and more often, more like jolts. He's especially active when I'm laying on my side and sometimes it keeps me up at night. I've been starting to feel him slightly under my ribs. I love feeling him throughout the day. The books and websites I read say to start counting kicks/movement to make sure he is moving throughout the day.

Food cravings: Nothing really but I've been loving fruit, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, anything with avocados, and ice cream.

Anything make you queasy/sick? Car sickness

Have you started to show yet: Definitely. Here is a picture from the weekend when we went to brunch with our friends Josh & Anna. There is no hiding this belly.

I was more tired than normal last week and have been napping a lot.

Looking forward to: Seeing our baby this week at our 4D ultrasound appointment. I'm excited to get an idea of what our lil guy will look like. I ordered a few more items for the nursery and can't wait for them to arrive. Also counting down to my baby showers!

Week 27 update

How far along: 27 weeks... I can't believe I'm now in my 3rd trimester! Time is flying by!
Total weight gain: 23 lbs. Maybe I should stop weighing myself everyday because its getting depressing. It just scares me because I still have 13 weeks to go. Call me crazy but I don't feel like I've gained this much.

Maternity clothes: Still wearing a mix of maternity and pre-pregnancy clothes. I bought a flowy non-maternity gym top that I think will last til the end of pregnancy and I can wear it after baby.

Stretch marks: No, and hoping it stays that way. I'm alternating between using Palmer's cocoa butter, Mustela, and bio oil twice a day.

Sleep: Waking up more like 3-4 times in the night to use the restroom. I'm now waking up with shoulder and hip pain but it goes away quickly. It feels like I'm sore from a big workout.

Miss anything? I miss being comfortable. The feeling of a tight stomach is back and is so uncomfortable. I also miss raw sushi.

Food cravings: Nothing really, but everything sounds good lately especially ice cream. I've also been loving Eggo waffles for breakfast and grapes.

Anything make you queasy/sick? Car sickness

Symptoms: The headaches have subsided a bit thank goodness. I feel uncomfortable from a tight stomach and I have a faint line down my belly aka the linea nigra. Also getting "pregnancy mask"- I have a dark patch on my right cheek and forehead and have been wearing spf 30 everyday hoping it doesn't get worse. I'm now waking up with hip pain, which I read is common. Overall still feeling great and have a lot of energy most days.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy for the most part, but irritable when it comes strangers.
 
Looking forward to: Putting the nursery together. I ordered a few items and can't wait for them to get here. Also counting down to my baby showers!

Visit to Illinois

We went to Illinois over the weekend to visit Andrew's family and friends. He's from Mackinaw, which is a small town about 2 1/2 hours south of Chicago. I always thought my hometown of La Verne (32,000 people) was a small town until I visited Mackinaw which is more like 1,500.

I didn't take too many pictures this trip since I've been there many times now, but here are some.

This pic was taken while driving to the neighboring city. Its a tractor that sprays pesticides on corn. Obviously I've never seen one of these driving down the road in California.
This is a view of the lake at Andrew's parents house.
One of the days, I went to lunch at a cute little tea room called the Depot with Andrew's mom and grandmas while he hung out with his dad. The Depot has really good food and is always filled with ladies lunching. This was my lunch- chicken tortilla soup, chicken salad, and white chocolate raspberry cheesecake- everything was delicious and I ate it all! (Except the croissant.)
I wanted a bump pic with Andrew since he's always the one taking them. (26 weeks here)

Its always good seeing everyone, we had a good time. This was the last flight before the baby comes, its crazy how the time is flying by!

Week 26 update

How far along: 26 weeks
Total weight gain: 20 lbs

Maternity clothes: Still wearing a mix of maternity and pre-pregnancy clothes. I still need maternity gym tops and pajamas.

Stretch marks: No, and hoping it stays that way. I'm alternating between using Palmer's cocoa butter, Mustela, and bio oil twice a day.

Sleep: Waking up more like 3-4 times in the night to use the restroom and its getting harder to fall asleep because I get so uncomfortable and hot. I'm now waking up with shoulder and hip pain.

Miss anything? I miss being comfortable. The feeling of a tight stomach is back and is so uncomfortable. I also miss raw sushi.

I've been pretty good at sticking to doing something active five days a week. I had a much needed cardio session today, and it felt great.
Movement: Yes! The kicks are becoming stronger and more often, more like jolts, and I can feel him hiccuping. You can really see him kick from the outside. I love feeling him throughout the day.

Food cravings: Nothing really, but everything sounds good especially ice cream lately.

Symptoms: Still getting headaches, but only during the work week. I feel uncomfortable from a tight stomach and I have a faint line down my belly aka the linea nigra. Also getting "pregnancy mask"- I have a dark patch on my right cheek and forehead and have been wearing spf 30 everyday hoping it doesn't get worse. I'm now waking up with hip pain, which I read is common. Overall still feeling great and have a lot of energy most days.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy for the most part, but irritable when it comes strangers.

Looking forward to: Getting a prenatal massage on Thursday and relaxing this weekend.
