Attn: all moms

Since it is the week of Mothers Day I thought it would be a good time to ask for any tips or advice for pregnancy or for when baby gets here. If you have any favorite books, recommended products, remedies for heartburn, prevention of stretch marks, etc please share! I'd love to hear them.
Right now I'm reading What to Expect When Expecting and just bought Baby Wise and Happiest Baby on the Block. If there are any other must reads let me know, thanks!

I hope all you moms have a wonderful Mother's Day!

  1. id watch the dvd..happiest baby on the block.. i really liked it..i had the book too..but seeing the techniques being done..really helped. favorite books.. i really LOVED Complete Organic Pregnancy book.. a friend rec. it..what products to stay away from..etc.. things to take into consideration..like nail polish! (use zoya) I was told by 3 diff OBs.. that stretch marks are hereditary..creams/oils with help esp when you start to itch..but it really comes down to ... did your mom have them?
Ultimately- you will figure it all out :) Mamas instincts :)

  2. As we've discussed = organic products are good. Nikki's organic book sounds good...otherwise I think you're good with books.
Stretch marks = I got none with you, very few tiny ones with Nolan. I don't recall if I used anything.
Heart burn remedies = orange popsicles worked for me.

    1. tips for a smooth pregnancy- lots of ice water to stay hydrated

bananas are great for cramps and headaches

I didn't really read many books but I love the spouts, parenting and what to expect. I did read the food sections "what to expect" while pregnant.. because certain fruits gave certain vitamins and stuff

apps for when baby was born: parenting, medela, ibaby tracker

products that I loved once I had the baby- Belly bandit! i loved the cocobutter cream/oil while pregnant and the minute you get itchy lather up!! and continue to use it post baby until you get your body back because you can get stretch marks when your body shrinks back... remember to lotion up belly, back, butt & thighs...

favorite places to shop while pregnant: forever 21, cheapy korean stores, target and express.

favorite places to shop for landon: carters, TJmaxx (for name brands like ralph lauren, hurley), h&m, zara, old navy, baby gap and carters...

we didn't do an organic pregnancy but we're an all organic family.. 95% organic... whatever you eat baby eats so during my 2nd and 3rd trimester i ate a lot of fruits, veggies, oats and nuts, cheese, yogurt.. and mac donalds. lol.

things not to eat if you're breastfeeding: garlic, spinach, onions- gives baby tons of gas the first 3 months!

      happy first mothers day!!

  5. Sorry I'm late to the party- but it's been a crazy week! The only advice I have is to not be afraid to be honest & frank with whoever who you trust to send questions to. There are all the books in the world out there, but there are a lot of times you're still asking yourself "is this normal?" Or "what do I do now?" Especially towards the end of pregnancy and after the delivery. Anna and Stacie were my go-to "is this weird?" Pregnancy 'coaches' and Jamie and I would text all the time and laugh at ourselves.
